Organization
Amnesty International Paris
The Festival cinéma et droits humains is organized by the Parisian militants of Amnesty International.
The feature films screenings are followed by discussions with the filmmakers and human rights specialists on issues represented in the films and related to Amnesty International’s action. However, all these films did not necessarily get Amnesty International’s official support. Similarly, the short films selected for the competition do not benefit from this official support.

Amnesty International
Amnesty International is a worldwide movement of more than 3 million supporters, members and activists in more than 150 countries and territories who campaign for internationally recognized human rights to be respected and protected for everyone.
Our vision is for every person to enjoy all the rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards. So, outraged by human rights abuses but inspired by hope for a better world, we work to improve people’s lives through campaigning and international solidarity.
Our mission is to conduct research and generate action to prevent and end grave abuses of human rights and to demand justice for those whose rights have been violated.
Our members and supporters exert influence on governments, political bodies, companies and intergovernmental groups. Activists take up human rights issues by mobilizing public pressure through mass demonstrations, vigils and direct lobbying as well as online and offline campaigning.
We are independent of any government, political ideology, economic interest or religion and are funded mainly by our membership and public donations.
